Maker Mondays is an 8-week STEAM-based workshop where students learn to design, build, and create through hands-on problem solving. Students will be introduced to 3D printing and digital modeling while developing their skills through creative projects and prototyping.
During the first four weeks, students will explore 3D printing and Nomad Sculpt, learning how to digitally model and bring their ideas to life. In the final four weeks, students will apply what they’ve learned through purposeful prototyping and design challenges, creating projects that combine creativity, technology, and problem-solving.
The workshop is designed for 4th–8th grade students, with a limited class size of 6 students to provide a more focused and hands-on learning experience. Tools, workshop access, and iPads are provided, with a $15 materials fee for PLA filament, primer filler, and paint.

The Conservatory of Fine Arts is a Saturday morning supplemental instructional program available to LAUSD students in grades 3 through 12 who have been identified as talented in the arts or recommended by their regular schools. At Hongart, we assist students interested in the Gifted/Talented program by preparing them through portfolio development and for the in-person evaluation, which includes a pencil still life and mixed media free drawing.
